Indiana Jones and The Egyptian Tomb Raiders
PREMISE

This is a special evening for the host. There has been a recent find in the Valley of the Kings. A discovery of treasure and history. It is the lost tomb of Ramphara the Third. Legend has it that Ramphara was a cursed King who dabbled in black Egyptian arts. It is rumoured that he brought the very wrath of Isis down upon him that caused his death. He was known as a tyrant and a corrupt leader. His fate probably rested upon his timely assassination from his court or by the sister that succeeded him, Princess Natif. Superstition has it that he was buried far beneath the earth to contain his evil. All his personal belonging and anything that represented his reign was buried with him and his name was banished in all of Egyptian history. Only rumour and folklore guided teams of archeologists to its ancient resting place. A place shrouded with mischief, greed and a curse to all those who encounter it.

Our hero, Indiana Jones, was also hot on the trail of the great treasure. Armed with a papyrus, a map that told of the King's tomb. Unfortunately Indie met with an untimely 'accident' that left his rival, Professor Montcalm in possession of the map and thus with the prize worth millions.

Tonight, the Professor has put his treasure on display including the very sarcophagus that holds the cursed King as well as the only known Egyptian Book of the Dead. Indiana has decided to crash the party and try to even the score with the Professor. The exhibit is one of wonder and the professor has not left anything to chance. He has exotic food and a huge swing band to entertain the people. He has Egyptian dancing girls, mystics, fakirs, magicians, fire eaters, snake charmers and fortune tellers that give it a sense of the Egyptian court or long ago. At the party is Lisa Eisenstandt, famous Life magazine photographer and personal friend to Indiana Jones.

Indie crashes the party. He tells the patrons of the Professor's plans to open the coffin of the late King that is rumoured to give evil powers to the person who releases the King. Indie is asked to leave, a fight ensues and Indie tries to steal the Ancient Egyptian book of the dead. A big fight and chase scene ensues and Indie is caught, the book retrieved and Mr. Jones thrown out of the party.

The evening continues and Professor Montcalm makes a speech. He tells the history of the artifacts, including the book of the dead. He comments on Mr. Jones and says that he is not going to chance a curse and open the sarcophagus. He is going to read mystic sayings from the book of the dead and bring the evil King back to life! He does so; there is smoke and lightning as the evil Pharaoh rises from the dead. The King rises and takes over the gathering calling everybody there his slaves. He means to avenge his assassination by finding his sister and then take over the world. Those would be Fakirs, fire-eaters and Egyptian dancers become his zombies. He sees Ms. Eisenstandt and mistakes her for his sister. He takes her prisoner and demands her execution or all the patrons present will die. Professor Montcalm is out of his element. He tries to calm the King but is struck down. Who will save the day?

Indiana Jones makes a spectacular entrance! He fights off the Egyptian Zombies and rescues Lisa from certain peril. He then retrieves the book of the Dead and reads out a spell that will put the evil King in his grave for all eternity. He does so in a spectacular climax to the event. The evil Egyptian King is vanquished; the evening is saved as the 'Zombies' snap out of their spell. Everything is all right again and Mr. Jones invites everyone to stay and enjoy themselves.

EXECUTION
This is a theme wrapped up as a party. You have to have lush sets, smoke, mood lighting to give it all a sense of mystery and antiquity. When inside it is a formal affair with the sense of Egypt. We can have fire-eaters, snake charmers, mystics who foretell the future, all from the streets of Cairo.

This will set a mood of carnival and mystique. We would put together small performances perhaps some circus acrobatics, and Egyptian dancing. This, of course is just a warm up for the real action. That is, the scenes involving Indiana Jones and the rebirth of the evil Egyptian mummy.

These scenes are very theatrical and harkens to the Indiana Jones movies. They are well-choreographed fight sequences, stunts, explosion, fog, and lighting cues all to the swelling sound of a great movie soundtrack. They have to be larger than life to get all the people at the venue interested. It is very much like a Disney exhibit. Precise, with a sense of choreography and danger.

This presentation would require large set pieces, and several actors as well as some stunt people. It is like a living movie, a cliffhanger that is happening live. You have the hero, you have an evil mummy that comes back to life and threatens world domination, you have the hero return to save the day in a spectacular climax and get the girl all at the same time. It's the event's equivalent to a Hollywood blockbuster.
