NIRVANA
|
|
| Nirvana
means...extinction..as a flame is extinquished when it runs out of
fuel. In this case the fuel is 'delusion' the wrong view of 'self'. When
the awakened person no longer clings to this view..the ego serving habits
..craving and aversion stop and thus an end to suffering. Nirvana is a metaphor...not a place...not a 'heaven' where all good Buddhists go. A more western notion of Nirvana may be..a state of bliss attained when one has acquired great wisdom and positive life style through good deeds...karma..the opposite of metaphor 'hell' Readers Comments : Read/Add |
